PITTSBURG, CA Monday, June 23, 2008: Overall, 13 students and 4 adults attended NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing at Infineon Raceway for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 June 20-22, 2008.
"Thanks to our community this weekend welcomes our students to a different sport and exposes them to its corporate and competition aspects," said Dario Arredondo, Director of Bay Area Soccer Academy (BASA). "We introduce these talented young students to key players in the NASCAR industry to kick-start their understanding of the importance of social skills; teamwork, honesty, pride, personal accountability and discipline."
NASCAR and Infineon treated us to entertainment that took to the sky and land before the green flag felt. We took all of the exciting action!
- The Patriots Jet Team Air Show - The Green Beret Parachute Team - Military Fly-bys - The Red Bull Helicopter - The Red Bull Sky Diving Team - Ceremonial Flag Opening as well as Military cannon explosions provided by the U.S. Army.
"Thanks to the support of our business community we had a great time! We all enjoyed the air show and pre-race entertainment followed by the NASCAR Sprint Cup race. I want to comeback every year. The sport of racing is fun, lots of fun." said Jose Vasquez, BASA student.
Students got to see first hand INFINEON offices, INFINEON and NASCAR sponsors, licensees, teams, tracks and broadcast partners.
Consistent with our soccer programs, NASCAR and Infineon have created a family environment that is safe and promote stable relationships between children and adults, and among children themselves. A social event for the entire family!
